A global sustainable packaging company Biopak has unveiled Beer Biocup, an alternative to 80,000 disposable plastic cups used at outdoor venues and events.

Composed of FSCcertified paper and coated with plant-based bioplastic, Beer Biocup complies with regulations prohibiting single-use plastics and fulfills industrial compost standards.

Trevor Rumble, product and innovations director of Biopak, emphasised the brand’s dedication to educating consumers and businesses about the importance of reducing single-use plastics and transitioning to compostable alternatives.

“By offering Beer BioCups, we hope to empower venues and event organisers to make a positive impact on the environment without compromising on the experience of enjoying a refreshing beverage,” Rumble added.

Biopak has also partnered with Compost Connect to transform the Beer BioCups collected after each event and diverted from landfills into nutrient-rich compost.

There are three sizes for BioPak’s Beer BioCups: 420ml, 14oz & 600ml, and 20oz.
