The leading environmental responsible surf gear Patagonia has collaborated with Bolder Industries to create new wetsuits using natural rubber end-of-life Yulex.

After collecting Yulex wetsuits, Patagonia ships them to Bolder Industries to extract the carbon black used in the dyeing process for the new wetsuits.

In its production, Bolder Industries has utilised less than 90 per cent water and produced fewer greenhouse gases. With more Yulex wetsuits hitting the market, Patagonia hopes to grow the collection program and contribute to circularity.

In the summer of 2015, Patagonia debuted the first wetsuits made of recycled BolderBlack material.

In 2018, Patagonia committed to producing less hazardous, neoprene-free wetsuit fabrics in collaboration with Yulex. Consequently, four years later, they debuted their first Yulex wetsuits.
