Australian-founded body-care brand Baresop is helping reduce waste by creating sustainable alternatives to traditional hand and body washes.

Launched a couple of years ago, Baresop is the passion of founder Prisca Ongonga-Daehn who embarked on a journey to cut down her personal single-use plastic waste in body-care products.

Her research showed that many people shared her frustration with the single-use plastic packaging used by most manufacturers. Then she realised that the water content in body-care products makes it essential to package them in bottles or plastic containers.

It took Prisca two years to figure out how to cut down water and create waterless products that could balance the harmony between human skin and the Earth. That is how Baresop’s plant-based hand and body powder was born – to help solve the zero-waste challenge.

Baresop products are made with natural vegan and cruelty-free ingredients. The packaging is made from recycled materials which are easy on the environment. As Prisca says – the products are designed to keep your body and your conscience clean.

Prisca’s hard work paid off when Baresop was named one of the winners of Amazon Australia’s Launchpad Innovation Grants, receiving a grant worth more than A$200,000 to contribute to her and Baresop’s sustainability journey.
