Flor de Caña, a carbon neutral and fair trade-certified sustainably produced ultra-premium rum brand, encourages eco-conscious bars, restaurants, and consumers around the world to adopt sustainable lifestyles with the return of Zero Waste Cocktails 2022.

The brand hopes to educate people about the importance of food waste reduction and increase their environmental consciousness by drinking sustainable cocktails.

In Singapore, 13 local bars and restaurants have joined this campaign, aiming to cut down to 15 tons of food waste worldwide. These venues serve a variety of cocktails made entirely of sustainably produced rum and ingredients derived from repurposed food scraps or leftovers.

In collaboration with the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) – a sustainable food service organisation – the brand suggests a practical ‘sustainable bar handbook’ and sustainability masterclasses with industry experts for participating venues.

“We’re proud to continue in partnership with Flor de Caña on the Zero Waste Cocktails campaign which excites and engages thousands of bar staff and customers globally on an issue of huge importance,” said Juliane Caillouette-Noble, MD of the Sustainable Restaurant Association.

With the support of more than 400 bars and restaurants in 22 countries, the Zero Waste Cocktails initiative has reached 10.4 tons of food waste, exceeding the previous year’s goal of 9 tons globally.
