Australia-based apple brand Jazz has unveiled compostable stickers for the new season, an initiative aimed at reducing plastic waste in fresh produce.
This program involves a trial of compostable stickers. The brand aims to make Jazz apples 100 per cent plastic-free by eliminating traditional plastic stickers applied to individual fruit.
In addition, consumers can dispose of these new stickers in home composting systems or green waste.
Jazz apples are grown across various Australian regions, including Batlow, Stanthorpe, the Adelaide Hills, Victoria’s Gippsland and Yarra Valley, Western Australia’s Manjimup and Pemberton, and Tasmania’s Tamar and Huon Valleys.
The fruit is sold nationwide at Woolworths, Coles, Costco, and independent greengrocers.
