Australian bedding brand Sheet Society is expanding its line with the launch of Cloud Corn Quilts and Pillows, a plant-based sleep range that uses corn instead of down or feather.

The quilts and pillows are made from 100 per cent plant-based fibres, including corn fibre fill and organic cotton outer, providing even better comfort than polyester bedding and a cost-effective option to down, said the company.

The products are made from plant-sourced fibres with an antibacterial neutral pH level, making it impossible for them to have mites or bacteria.

In addition, the sleep range is hypoallergenic, breathable, and thermo-regulating while keeping its “light and lofty” feel.

Hayley Worley, co-founder and co-CEO of Sheet Society, said its natural versatility makes Cloud Corn exceptional.

“As the cost of living continues to increase rapidly, we understand the challenges consumers face when living sustainably at home,” remarked Worley.

“However, in launching Cloud Corn,️ we aim to shift the perception that sustainable products must be more expensive.”

Worldwide, an estimated 72 per cent of bedding ends up in landfills instead of being used, recycled, or disposed of properly, and the shift to using plant-based fillings instead of polyester could be a potentially better alternative.

“For us, sustainability is not a set destination but a path of continuous improvement, which we’re consistently pioneering across design, production and delivery processes,” Worley concluded,

“Cloud Corn is a natural next step in the growth of Sheet Society, and I’m thrilled to be able to provide our customers with a superior plant-based product that speaks to their desire for affordable eco-friendly alternatives.”
