After the debut of its first refill station at SM Megamall last year, health and beauty retailer Watsons has opened its second station for Naturals by Watsons at The Block SM City, North Edsa, Philippines.

The company says the refill stations are part its initiatives to encourage consumers to lead more sustainable lifestyles by offering them options to reuse their plastic bottles instead of putting them to waste.

With two new stations, customers can now conveniently refill their clean empty bottles with Natural by Watsons products, including Aloe Vera Shampoo, Coffee Shampoo, Argan Shampoo, Olive Shampoo, and Aloe Vera Body Wash.

Customers can also buy empty bottles with screw caps in-store, which they can customise with free stickers.

Unfortunately, the retailer says only clean, dry, and empty Naturals by Watsons bottles can be refilled at the Refill Stations. Bottles from other brands will not be accepted.

However, Watsons added that customers can still purchase refill packs from other brands, including Safeguard, Dove, Johnson’s, Colgate, Gillette, Babyflo, Sunsilk, Luxe Organix, Head & Shoulders, and many others.

“We hope our customers contribute to a more sustainable world by reusing the containers and reducing plastic waste,” said Viki Encarnacion, PR and sustainability director at Watsons Philippines.

In the UK, Boots offers a packaging recycling program in 700 stores.
