MCM and Harper Collective have teamed up to drive the way for environmentally responsible and sustainable travel. The two brands share the same vision: “Sustainable luggage is the future of travel”.
The MCM x Harper Collective line includes three models: Cabin, the newly developed Cabin Expandable, and a large check-in case.
The partnership was grounded in the inspiration of Harper’s existing ‘Ghost’ collection made of abandoned fishing nets. While MCM integrates its own upcycled components, Harper Collective introduces new elements.
The luggage line uses MCM’s recycled quilted nylon and webbing straps from three different decades for the interior and the upcycled Maxi Visetos materials for the luggage tags.
Harper Collective creates its hard-shell rolling travel cases using a combination of post-consumer plastic and 70 per cent recycled ocean plastic, such as fishing nets, demonstrating the company’s dedication to a greener, more responsible travel industry.
In addition, each MCM x Harper Collective piece includes a chip produced by the world’s leading product traceability company, Temera, that allows customers to verify the sustainability of their purchases with the entire product lifecycle transparently documented.
The collection will be featured in a noteworthy CGI (computer-generated imagery) campaign and MCM’s From Munich to Mars campaign.
The products are available for purchase at all MCM flagship shops, at the Harper Collective online, and at the Harper Collective store at Selfridges London.
