Electroluxthe world’s second-largest appliance manufacturer – under its new laundry brand AEG, will present a collection of sustainable appliances this month.

New energy-saving washing machines and tumble dryers as well as food waste-saving fridges and freezers at the global tech event IFA in Berlin.

“We innovate to make life easier and more enjoyable while enabling people to make more sustainable choices,” said Chris Braam, CEO of Electrolux Europe.

“By working with recycled materials, energy-efficient solutions and applying sustainable practices we show that it is possible for consumers to make great tasting, healthy food and keep clothes looking like new for longer whilst taking care of the environment at the same time.”

Adding new features such as Softwater and PowerClean, the new laundry washing machines help users save 96 per cent less water than a regular washing cycle, and catch up to 90 per cent of microplastic fibres.

Additionally, new kitchen appliances including food waste-saving fridges and freezers will also be shown at IFA. The fridge is uniquely made of 70 per cent recycled plastic in the inner liner walls, and the innovative cooling technology keeps the food fresh longer, resulting in less food waste each week.
