Sydney-based recyclable company Huskee has unveiled the launch of “Borrow by Huskee,” a free initiative that allows customers to borrow reusable cups from businesses when placing coffee or drink orders.

Business and cafe owners can order borrowed cups in two sizes (8oz and 12oz), and then let their customers use them. After 14 days of being used, all the consumed cups are gathered, cleaned, and brought back to the cafes so they can be used again.

To make the cups, the brand used high-quality, long-lasting plastic and Huskee fins for insulation.

Saxon Wright, co-founder of Huskee – who launched the concept during the Melbourne International Coffee Expo – said the program lessens the need to remember to pack a reusable cup.

“Our goal is to make it easier and more accessible than ever for people to support circular solutions,” said Wright.

“Starting in Sydney, we aim to expand and scale this year, rolling out this service to as many venues as possible across the country.”

In addition, customers can obtain the borrowed cups through the SmartBin app’s integration by installing it and scanning the QR code on each cup during the ordering process.
