A Berlin-based startup has introduced a razor made with recycled razor blades.
Featuring stainless steel sourced from recycled razors and other metals, My-Blades also covers its product with a ‘Teflon Platinum’ coating to ensure a smooth shave and reduce razor burns.
After research and trials, My-Blades created eco-friendly razor blades comprising up to 80-per-cent recycled materials.
Aiming to maintain a healthy ecosystem, the company says that it also removes plastic from the packaging and the plastic used in its products are 100-per-cent recycled, which has strengthened the company’s commitment to sustainability.

Instead of creating two different shaving heads, My-Blades has made a 2-in-1 that combines the features of an open and closed comb razor to help consumers save the need of buying two heads.
“Style and performance don’t need to compromise on sustainability. We aim to be the most sustainable shaving company, producing premium shaving accessories and the most sustainable razor blades in the market,” said a My-Blades spokesperson.
“Each of our revolutionary blades could have begun their journey in a unique and vibrant way – who knows? You could be shaving with part of a fighter jet, a rocket that’s been to space, or any other premium products that have been repurposed to give you the smoothest shave of your life.”
My-Blades also teams up with Eden Reforestation Projects to fight against deforestation by planting a tree for every product sold.
The recycled razor blades are now available directly from the company’s website.
