Pernod Ricard has incorporated its spirits brands into Ecospirit‘s circular packaging technology through a five-year global licensing agreement.

This partnership is in line with the group’s sustainability and responsibility roadmap, encouraging circularity across the entire production and distribution process.

Starting from a pilot program in Singapore in 2022, Pernod Ricard deployed Ecospirit’s packaging technology with three brands – Beefeater London Dry gin, Havana Club rum and Absolut vodka – which will now be introduced to new markets under the new global agreement with other brands from the group’s portfolio.

Maria Pia De Caro, EVP of integrated operations and sustainability of Pernod Ricard, says this next step in the company’s partnership with Ecospirit “reflects our belief in the transformative power of this solution to enhance operational efficiency and reduce not only our environmental footprint but the impact of our industry at large”.

Paul Gabie, CEO of Ecospirit, is inspired by Pernod Ricard’s commitment to circular production.

“This new global agreement builds on their three-year journey and our combined expertise to bring circular packaging to more Pernod Ricard markets around the world,” added Gabie.

Ecospirit uses a fully reusable 4.5-litre glass Ecotote container to transport its products, helping to reduce waste and carbon emissions generated during the production and transportation of bottles and other secondary packaging.
