US footwear company Crocs is targeting zero carbon emission by 2030. According to the footwear brand, the company is working on achieving this target through a strategic focus on sustainable components and packaging; and research on product afterlife solutions and resource utilisation. In addition, company is developing a bio-based Croslite material, as substitute ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), the current material predominantly used on all of the brand’s footwear. Crocs is looking to be 100-per-cent vegan by the end of this year, using the bio-based Croslite material as the predominant component in its footwear range. “Taking action to reduce our environmental footprint by implementing more sustainable practices across our entire business is the right thing to do for Crocs,” said Andrew Rees, CEO at Crocs. “As a company, we are deeply committed to accountability, and we’re confident that we have the right team, the right innovations and the right partners to help us achieve our net-zero ambitions by 2030.”
