FMCG giant Nestlé has introduced a limited-edition plant-based fork for Maggi cup noodles in India.

The company collaborated with local startup Trishula for a propriety fork design made with wheat flour and salt that can function as food-grade cutlery.

Rajad Jain, director for foods at Nestlé India, shared that redesigning accessories like cups, straws, and cutlery is an integral part of the company’s commitment to eliminating or reducing plastics in packaging.

This also includes simplifying packaging, scaling reusable and refillable systems, and exploring alternative packaging options.

“At Nestlé, it is our continuous endeavour to discover ways to build a better future for our consumers and the planet,” Rahat added.  “We are confident that this launch will also set a strong precedent for greater greener solutions.”
