To kick off a planet-friendly 2022, social enterprise Green Monday and Hong Kong hospitality operator Great Eagle Holdings have partnered with some of Hong Kong’s top food influencers to share a batch of plant-based recipes that consumers can re-create in the comfort of their own homes.

The campaign is in line with the company’s mission to help reduce the country’s carbon footprint “one meal at a time”.

Green Monday x Elvis Chan

Elvis Chan (素食達人)

Famed chef and television host Elvis Chan shares his Nepalese Momos with Vegan Cheesy & Spicy Chutney recipe using OmniPork strips as a plant-based meat alternative. 

Chan abandoned his dream to become an actor to pursue his passion, cooking. He has a series on Youtube called “Vegetarian Street” where he features different vegetarian restaurants all over the globe. 

“People call me a ‘beautiful guy’, but I never feel that’s what I am! If you label me as an idol and ignore my true strengths, please try to understand me before you come to any conclusion.” said Chan in an interview with HK01. “I haven’t forgotten my roots! If other people think of me when they think about vegetarian food, I will be touched! I don’t feel there’s any need to question my original intention of promoting vegetarian culture.”

Buddhist chef Kwen Wong shares his vegan take on Indonesian Satay Curry Stew with Meatballs & Vegetables. 

According to Wong, his passion for food began when he was a child, leading him to study cooking international cuisine. He seeks to change the way people think about vegetarian dishes by cooking them in a flavourful way.

Christine Cheung (Veggie Mom Diary 素媽媽美麗日記) 

Mom and food influencer Christine Cheung, who operates Vegan Mom Diary and works as a culinary consultant for Green Monday, shared her sumptuous Avocado Burger recipe using Omnipork Luncheon.

A vegetarian for nearly 30 years, Cheung has worked as a consultant and culinary director for major institutions such as Le Creuset, Cosmopolitan, Langham, to name a few. In addition, she has created an online course that promotes vegetarian cooking culture for Chinese families worldwide.
