Representatives of businesses, brands and the government will meet in Sydney next week to discuss ways of solving marine environmental problems at the Blue Solutions Summit.

The summit, on March 10, is considered part of the nation’s response to the current UN Ocean Decade.

Organised by Volvo Ocean Lovers Festival and presented with Ocean Impact Organisation, the conference will be led by scientists and experts who will discuss opportunities for change in Australia, which boasts the world’s third-largest exclusive ocean economic zone.

The summit has the participation of Federal Environment Minister Sussan Ley and her NSW counterpart James Griffin, who will discuss the high-impact industries of fashion, fast-moving consumer goods and finance in the ocean space. Senate candidate Zali Steggall and Shadow Assistant Minister for the Environment Josh Wilson will also join the discussion.

Australia’s UN Ocean Decade convenor Jas Chambers will discuss initiatives for the next decade.
