Surfwear label Roxy has teamed up with London fashion house Liberty Fabrics to create a collection aimed at raising awareness of the threat to beautiful underwater flora from human influence.

The Liberty Fabrics collection features recycled fabrics for swimwear, organic cottons for apparel, and sustainable fabrication techniques for wetsuits. The materials are natural and chemical free and – designed to support extended time in the water – highly resistant to sunscreens and oils.

The designs are inspired by oceanic vegetation, centred around corals, a type of flora greatly affected by environmental damage and climate change.

“Liberty Fabrics’ archival print featured in this collection captures the vibrant underwater world that is so close to Roxy’s heart,” explains Stephanie Micci, global creative director & design director at Roxy.

“When designing this capsule, we thought about how we could best pay homage to the spirit of Liberty Fabrics prints, as well as the values and technical capabilities of Roxy. The result is a collection of feminine silhouettes that were consciously created and designed to perform.”

The new range is available online in Australia at Roxy’s website and through selected stores internationally.
