A Czech company has prevented over 300 million tyres from landfill by transforming them into advanced noise barriers.

The initiative addresses environmental protection and noise reduction in urban areas. The discarded tyres have undergone a recycling process that turns them into compressed rubber, which is then used to build ‘acoustic walls’ along highways and railway lines.

The barriers are built to withstand harsh weather conditions and require minimal maintenance.

This project serves as a practical example of the circular economy, demonstrating how waste can be repurposed into essential infrastructure.
