Eco-lifestyle brand Future Fur has entered the homewares market with the launch of a faux fur throw collection made entirely from recycled plastic bottles.

Co-founded by podcaster Ellidy Pullin and Ena Pelly’s Tim Wilkins and Dani Pelly, the venture follows the fashion label’s footsteps in material innovation, driven by the trio’s shared appreciation for design, practicality, and the idea that “conscious luxury and longevity can go hand in hand.”

“When we first developed recycled faux fur in 2020, it was a risk,” said Pelly. “It’s taken years of proving that considered materials can be beautiful.”

The process, which takes place in Geelong, sees each throw sewn, brushed, and hand-packed with double-sided rabbit and sherpa-style faux fur that is soft and machine-washable. Versatility and durability remain at the forefront for use across play mats, dog beds, nappy mats and bedding.

“Future Fur is a continuation of the recycled faux fur journey we started in 2020, refined for everyday living,” said Wilkins.

“Our supplier has spent decades perfecting the structure of the fur and we’ve spent over two years developing this product – trialling it in our own homes with our kids and dogs.”

Within its first three years of operation, the venture aims to remove over 1.2 million plastic bottles from landfills, with each blanket diverting more than 60 bottles. The brand will also donate 5 per cent of profits from each throw to One Village Plastic Fee to support reducing plastic waste across Bali.

“We wanted to make something that feels good in every sense and does good too. It’s proof that sustainability and style can live side by side beautifully,” added Pullin.

The throws are available online in three sizes and six core colours: Brown, dark brown, natural, pink, green and white.
