Food company Meliora has launched Australia’s first plant-based liquid egg alternative exclusively in Woolworths stores across the country this week.
Featuring non-GMO, locally grown, and sustainably sourced from mung bean and fava bean protein isolates, the liquid egg provides a complete source of protein. It is also low in calories, carbohydrates, and fat, free of cholesterol and gluten, and allergen friendly.
“We couldn’t ignore the growing need for a vegan-friendly egg alternative in Australia,” said Vicky Pappas, CEO at Meliora Foods.
“We believe all Aussies deserve to enjoy delicious, beneficial and sustainable meals, so we’re proud to be able to offer Australians a sensational new product that doesn’t compromise on taste or texture.”
The company says its plant-based liquid egg is “liquid gold” bottled for convenience. It can scramble and bake with the same texture and fluff as a regular egg and can be used for several dishes including morning scrambled eggs, an omelette or a breakfast burrito.
Meliora’s Plant-Based Liquid Egg can be purchased in Woolworths stores nationwide at RRP$8.50 for a 330g bottle.
